Our program was established by the decision taken at the meeting of the Higher Education Executive Board dated 23 January 1991. He started education under the name of "Printing Program" within the Vocational School of Technical Sciences. Since the academic year of 1992-1993, it was opened in the second education and took students. The name of our program has been named as "Design and Printing Publishing Program" from 2005-2006 to 2008-2009 academic year, and "Printing and Publishing Technologies Program" since 2009-2010 academic year. Since 2012, as a result of the Technical Sciences Vocational School becoming departments, it continues its education under the "Audiovisual Techniques and Media Production" Department as the "Printing and Broadcasting Technologies Program".

 

Education

In our program, basic education of all stages of Printing and Publishing is given during the 4-semester education-training period, and application studies related to this education are carried out.

They learn and use the appropriate desktop publishing programs before printing, learn the printing systems at the printing stage, select the appropriate printing for the job, perform the stages of the printing process, and then apply and learn the points that should be considered in the quality control of the job. They also learn the importance of work organization, cost extraction, pricing, packaging design, project preparation and job security.

In the fourth semester, our students are directed to a subject they are interested in, and they are provided with research and examination and prepare a Graduation Project on this subject. During the summer period between 1st and 2nd grade, they gain industry experience by doing industrial internship for 30 working days, increasing their professional knowledge and knowledge by finding practical work opportunities.

As a result of these trainings, "Technician" diploma is given.
